High Point Climbing & Fitness is an amazing facility, but nothing can compare to the incredible adventure of climbing in the great outdoors. If you want to know what real rock climbing is like, you couldn’t be in a better place. Chattanooga is surrounded by incredible rock climbing. Bouldering, sport climbing, and traditional climbing are all available on amazing sandstone all within a short drive. Whether you are climbing for the first time or looking to take your skills to the next level, our experienced climbing guides will help you enjoy an incredible day outside!

Guided trips are available any day of the week. We’ll typically plan on meeting at 9:00 AM at the gym on the day of the booked trip to take full advantage of a day of climbing. However, our guides are happy to be flexible and work with your schedule.

If you are new to outdoor climbing, or if you are experienced and looking for a new adventure, there are plenty of areas to explore in Chattanooga.

Sunset Rock

 Located on Chattanooga’s Lookout Mountain is just a few minutes above the city. This crag is a great first outing for top-rope or traditional climbing.


 A great road-side crag just north of Chattanooga with an abundance of beginner and moderate sport climbs.

Foster Falls

 One of the most scenic climbing areas in the Southeast. Hike past a beautiful waterfall to miles of high quality sport climbing cliffs.

Stone Fort (a.k.a. Little Rock City)

 This area boasts some of the most popular bouldering in the South. Offering over 200 high quality boulder problems and easy access, Stone Fort is a world class destination in our own backyard.

Castle Rock

 A stunning sandstone buttress full of great sport climbing. Reach the top of any climb and you are rewarded with spectacular views of the Sequatchie Valley.

Denny Cove

 This area is one of the newest additions to the Chattanooga climbing scene. With 150 established routes and potential for many more, this crag has a wide variety of difficulty levels and climbing styles.


Full Day

An 8 hour day at a climbing area of your choosing. Meet your guide at the gym in the morning to embark on your climbing adventure. Depending on how far away your climbing destination is you can expect approximately 6 hours of climbing time.

Half Day

A shorter trip of 4 hours to fit into your morning or afternoon. Approximately 3 hours of climbing time at a destination closer to downtown Chattanooga.

High Point’s climbing guides are American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) certified single pitch instructors. Our climbing guide service is fully insured and operates to the highest possible standards with all necessary permitting.
