Re-opening Update

Hello High Point Family,

We are happy to announce that we are re-opening our doors to the public! As we welcome you all back to the gym, we will continue to do our best to make both the Downtown and Riverside facilities as clean and safe as possible. We will continue to operate with the protocols we already have in place, and encourage all climbers to be responsible as we climb together again.

With this next level of re-opening, we are psyched to return to our normal hours:

Mon: 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Tue: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Wed: 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Thu: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Fri: 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Sat: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Sun: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
As we make this next step, here are some ways you can help us make this an amazing climbing environment for everyone.

- Plan & Prepare: Consider coming to the gym during low traffic hours.
– Stay Sanitary: Please wash your hands before and after your climbing session.
– Small Groups: Climb with a few people and avoid coming in groups of 10+
– Social Distance: Stay at least 6 feet away from others.
– Consider Wearing A Mask: If you do not have a respiratory concern, consider wearing a mask to protect yourself and others.

We remain cautiously optimistic throughout this process with safety being our #1 priority. Thank you to our members for helping us refine our safety protocols over the past two weeks. We hope that we can continue to welcome you all back to the gym and climb with you in a healthy environment.

Stay Well,
High Point Staff

Re-opening!

Dear High Point Community,

As we prepare to re-open our facilities, we are doing so with diligence and an abundance of caution. In order to avoid any unnecessary risks to the health of our guests or staff, the first phase of this re-opening will include certain procedures and limitations. On May 17th, High Point facilities in Chattanooga, Birmingham, and Huntsville will re-open to members only and will be implementing the following protocols.

- No Day Passes or Punch Cards will be sold at this time.

- Closures of our locker rooms, showers, and water fountains

- Touch-free water bottle fill stations will still be available.

- At this time member guest passes will not be available.

- All rental gear will be available to members with the exception of rental ropes.

- Top Rope and Lead tests will still be available to members.

- We will be operating all of our facilities at or below 50% capacity.

Here’s what we’ll need from you:

- Upon entry all members will be required to wash/sanitize their hands.

- All climbers will also be required to have their temperature checked via no-touch infrared thermometer upon entry. Anyone who exhibits a temperature exceeding 100.4º Fahrenheit will not be able to remain in the facility.

- Anyone within the facility will also be asked to practice appropriate social distancing by maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet between yourself and fellow climbers.

Our staff members will be following all of the same guidelines and be screened before each shift. Staff members will also be required to wear face coverings during their shift. While guests are not required to wear face coverings, please feel encouraged to do so.

We are looking forward to re-opening our facilities and can’t wait to see each and every one of you back in the gym. However, if you would like for your membership to remain frozen, we will happily waive all freeze charges through June. Please contact your home gym with your name and DOB by May 31st and we’ll take care of the rest.

New operating hours will be 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM Monday – Saturday, and 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Sunday.

COVID-19 FAQ For High Point Members

Is my membership frozen?

Yes, all memberships are frozen as of Wednesday March 18th. The freeze will continue until we are able to re-open. You will not be charged for the freeze.

I paid for March but you closed for two weeks. Will I get a credit?

No one will lose any time on their membership. When we confirm the re-opening date, everyone will be notified. On that date, we’ll unfreeze the memberships and you’ll only be billed for the prorated dues remaining in that month. When billing runs for the next full month, you’ll see a credit for the two weeks we were closed at the end of March.

I still have a prepaid membership. Will my end date be moved forward?

Yes. Anyone with time remaining on their prepaid will have their end date automatically moved forward when the memberships are unfrozen.

Can I continue to pay for my membership even though the gym isn’t open to help out?

Yes, despite the size of the gyms and number, we really are a small company. Those that have the means and willingness to contribute can continue to pay their membership dues. That money will be used to continue to pay our part time staff during the closure. We can’t thank you enough if you decide to do this. If you would like to opt-in to continuing your regular membership dues, please email your full name, date of birth, and home gym location to [email protected].

What about Clubs and Teams?

Clubs and Teams have been suspended. When they restart will depend on how long we are closed. Once we have a firm re-open date, we will determine if we are going to push the entire season forward or if it will be an abbreviated season. Either way, we will give you time before they start back up to make plans accordingly.

Are you still having summer camps?

Yes, we are planning for the best so as of right now summer camps will run on schedule. However, this situation is obviously very fluid so like everything else we will let everyone know as soon as possible if that changes.

I have a birthday party or group scheduled. What if the closure continues?

If it looks like we will be unable to open on April 1st, we will be calling all groups and individuals with classes scheduled so we can get them re-scheduled for a later date.

What about the member events that were scheduled?

We already have a schedule of events for April so we will be holding those events. Some events that had to be cancelled because of the closure will be moved to future months and some will be squeezed into the upcoming month where we can.

Global Climbing Day 2019

Global Climbing Day

Join us for Global Climbing Day on August 24th! We’ve teamed up with The North Face and climbing gyms across the globe to celebrate inclusivity and community through climbing.

Since 1966, The North Face has viewed walls not as obstacles, but as opportunities. From the big walls of Yosemite to the high peaks of the Himalayas, they were searching for a personal kind of freedom. In this pursuit, they found a community –strengthened by different stories, experiences and perspectives. This community has shown us all that the only way forward is together. We all believe in a world that is united by difference, bound by empathy and strengthened by understanding. Walls Are Meant For Climbing.

All High Point members get an extra free guest pass, so bring a friend who’s new to climbing or someone who is stoked on the climbing scene.

We will have climbing BINGO, rope clinics, raffle prizes, beer, food, DJ Wesley Walker, and a Sterling Rope Film on adaptive climber Jim Ewing!

There’s so much to celebrate in our amazing community, so come out and enjoy an evening of celebrating the walls that unite us!
